New England rifle furniture
« on: May 21, 2017, 11:57:00 PM »
So does anyone make a good triggerguard and buttplate for a New England rifle? My father had an original so I'm thinking about recreating it. I've never seen anyone sell furniture for one of these except TRS. Don't really want to go that route. Any help would be great. Thanks,
Greg

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

You might contact David Price.  He used to sell a New England kit and has build several very nice New England flintlock rifles.  You can check his website out and see several of his New England rifles.

Ok Goehring and Mr Price. I have marvelled at David Prices website before, and forgot he did a new england gun. I'll email in the morning. Has anyone altered any existing guards and buttplate? Is rather go with a casting off an original, but might have to make do. Thanks all,
Greg

Do you have any pictures of what you're looking for?  I may have something.

TOF,
No pics on hand, but the originals are like the ones David Price has pictures on his gun. Triggerguard similar to most guards but they have a distinct projection at the tip of the front extention. This is the same guard my father's rifle has.
