Inexpensive heat supply for forging
« on: December 19, 2017, 03:50:22 PM »
We all know how convenient and yet poor heat supply a hand held propane torch is.
Well here is a simple, cheap, and abundant heat supply ( not as good as a coal forge )
Harvest the hose from a tired BBQ, attach it to your torch head from the hand held propane torch, then attach the hose to a 20-40 lb. propane tank.
Much cheaper to use than the hand held propane bottles, and much more heat if required.
Plus it is easy to hold the torch head in a vise while leaving your hands free.
You can also mount it to your small brick forge furnace.
I hope this helps.
Merry Christmas!

Please note:
On one tank..........only one tank, the BBQ hose would not screw to the propane tank, the threads were not mated to the BBQ hose that I had.
