Racking vice jaws

There is always a problem with clamping work in the edge of vise jaws with the jaws racking. The answer is to put something in the other edge to even it out. Problem is finding something handy the right size. I made up a couple these out of some scrap flat bar stock. Drilled a hole in one end and strung them together with a wire battered on the ends so they can’t escape.

Interesting idea.If that vise has removable jaws I'd make new ones.
My main vise was made in Poland with a sliding rear hand that slides on a
dovetail with adjustable gibbs.It is on the 3rd set of tool steel jaws.
Another thing I have done on milling machine vises is to make quick
detach jaws mounted on precision dowel pins for different jobs as
needed.These can be used to establish fast angles and other special
operations.

I just use the step blocks from my mill tie downs.
Have to be a mite careful on clamping pressure as they are cast Chinesium and dont want to break one but they work well.

in our country.

Unfortunately, Chinesium is everywhere these days.
