I know I have seen several posts that mention a sight "aid" that is out there somewhere. It is a small suction cup which sticks on the shooters glasses and has a small disc which you look through...the effect is as if you are using a peep site. I also think I have seen ads in various publications but cannot seem to find any of them now. Anyone know the name or where they can be purchased?

A little piece of electrical tape with a clean small hole stuck on my strong eye lense also works pretty well. I use the smallest option on a leathercraft adjustable hole punch to make the little hole.

The "Merit Disc Sight" by Merit Corporation is the way to go. Their design features an adjustable iris, much like a camera lens; which allows you to tune the focus to sharp clarity. I've used them for years with great success!

From the folks at Champion's Choice in Lavergne,TN, I was informed that the merit disc was no longer available. I was needing a replacement suction cup for mine.....again none available.

Lyman marketed one called the Lyman Hawkeye Shooters Optical Aid.
It mounts with a suction cup & looks similar to the Merit Disk sight & works the same.

Of the sites listed the one at "sharpsights.com" is actually:

They have them and the look like the merit ones.

That Sharpsight looks pretty good. I'm definitely a candidate but have been putting it off.

I've encountered a few shooters who were using a piece of electrical tape with a small hole in it. They stick the piece of tape on the lens. That might be a good way to try the concept.

I made my own, took a piece of naugahide glued to a bent coated paper clip, the plastic on the clip protects the lens, punched the smallest hole on my multipunch pliers. Just clip to my glasses n shoot the sights and target are very clear even at 100 yds. the soft side of the hide protects the lens too, even used it to get my doe opening day, helps to see brush ect. in the bullet path. Got her at 45 yds. man that 54 cal ball hits hard, took both lungs and destroyed the exit shoulder, she still ran 40 yds uphill then dropped.

Big big fan of the eyepal, which I bought after making some of my own. This past Saturday though it let me down when it would not stick in 35 degree weather. I had to shoot without it and dropped 40 points easy. I will still use it and recommend it, but I need a mechanical method of holding the disk to my shooting glasses. Like the suction cup, the static cling has it's limits.

Was your disk attached to the glasses and then came off due to the temp, or you could not get it to stick because of the cold?

I leave mine attached to the glasses all the time.

I was having trouble with my Merit eye piece falling off. Attached a string to it and the temple of my glasses and haven't lost it. Also, I find it sticks to "glass" lens better than plastic.

I remove mine and clean the glasses between uses. Plus I move it for pistol. The eyepal and the glasses were cold after driving two hours to the match and then having everything outside for an hour before the match began. I think next time I am putting it on at home and adding a bit of electrical tape.

SharpSite good product, have used it since it beginning. I have a Merit Disc and in my opinion it just doesn’t compare. Both in my shooting box the Merit just never gets used.

Just another comment on the Eyepal. I lost mine the other day, wouldn't you know it, right before our last shooting match of the year. As you might expect I didn't shoot too well. I had forgotten what fuzzy sights were like. Anyway, I called the Eyepal folks to get a replacement. I spoke with Charlie Summers who said he would replace the sight and at no charge. I got it in the mail today. You can't beat that kind of customer service!

Just be sure to clean your glasses real well and rub the sight over your shirt sleeve or the seat of your car (if it has cloth seats). That will get the static charge you need to keep it on your glasses.
