An early idea of a "Blooey Gun"* used to settle disputes in the local tavern.
*An old term from the days of the boot leggers and it was a double barreled
or single barrel 12 gauge cut down to easily concealed size.One of our local
junk shops had one displayed in their front window and the chief of police
took it and threw it off the 6th street bridge. I think this was about 1950.

Well that settles that....! Thanks Taylor...an for you percussion guy's...here's this one...45 caliber 1 1/8 inches across the flats. The tacks were added by a twenty year old kin who didn't no better...an refinished the stock...Oldtravler

Based on some of my experiences with canoes, a canoe gun is one that will be no great loss when you capsize and lose it.

Snark alert. For some who want a particular piece of equipment to be historical, if one existed somewhere at some time, that means they were everywhere, in all periods, in all configurations.  By that logic, 1770s longhunters had some rifles made with 24” barrels.  “After all, we don’t have records of every single one.”

I saw that video of the stutz about 6 months back. Had to have one. I used a GM 54 cal x 12" pistol barrel. Didn't try to copy.
13-1/2" pull, Manton flintlock. Everyone who sees it wants to shoot it, it seems. Good to have a small range in the back yard.
It is really fun to shoot. Likely do another with a 62 cal swamped barrel.
