I’ve seen the muzzle of rifles that have various patterns of different marks around them. At what time frame did this practice become common? At this time I’m building a Kibler colonial and thought it may be a nice thing to add.

James I can't say when it started . But can provide an example from a 1790 period Jacob Dickert.. LP
