Mike Cox rifle photos
« on: April 28, 2020, 02:47:57 AM »
There is a Mike Cox rifle pictured in Robert Weil's book Contemporary Makers of Muzzle Loading Firearms on pages 77-79. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are more photos of this rifle anywhere. This one caught my eye. It would be nice to have some more views of it.

It's worth a look, very unusual.

Here's a couple teaser pics

Thanks guys. I was on Log Cabin's site the other day and it either wasn't there yet or I just overlooked it.

I THINK I saw this rifle at the Log Cabin booth* and I think it had a price
of over $5000.Mike Cox is an artist of the first rank and possibly the least
known of all as well. The gun I saw had a Lock of the Shoults/Ketland I made
a long time ago and my double set triggers (maybe).Once again,it's the willing
seller and the willing buyer who will determine the value of anything.

Liza at the Log Cabin Shop sent me some additional pics. The Log Cabin gun is not the same one in the book. I would say they are first cousins though.

I wouldn't say you missed it by a country mile, more like a country inch. The stock shape is the same, just the carving is different.
