My latest bag
« on: November 25, 2020, 06:35:48 PM »
Here is my latest bag that I just finished last night.  I draw a lot of inspiration from the bags that Lawrence Fiorillo makes.  I think he is an excellent craftsman and his bags I could sit and look at all day.  I made an attempt to copy one that really caught my attention.  It's Nowhere near his quality of work and look but I'm happy enough with it to keep it with my latest SMR.  I also would like to thank Larry for some tips along th way.
The body is bark tan goat.  Flap is bark tan deer as well as the flap apron and binding.  It is lined with some stiff brain tan.

Thanks Eric!  I did send a picture to him and I dont want to repeat what he wrote but it is good in a tough way🤣.
You also have helped me with some tips up at Dixons so I also credit you with how I'm coming along.  Especially with edging and stitching.

Nice job Scott, not too much detail or too little details.  Like it.

Thanks Mike, Bob and Gary!  Gary, you do some fine work that I've drooled over, too.  In fact, there's a lot of nice work being done by folks on this forum.  And Bob, your collection outclasses us all (at least what I see on the videos).

I might have the nicest collection shown 'on tv' but it ranks about 67th on this forum, this I can tell you....  ;)

Great looking bag, Scott!  I really like the homespun look, and you nailed it with this one!

Thanks everyone for your comments! It's funny but there was only enough left off this piece of goat I got from Curt Lyle a good while ago to make one more and it was thicker than I like but tried it anyway.  Some things have a way of working out, I guess.
