I really like the carving behind the cheekpiece, but the whole rifle is really nice. What is the length of pull, and how much does it weigh?

Well done!!!

Very well done.  Did you fabricate the box?  Very clean work.

No, I modified an existing one. The finial and engraving are my designs.

Did you find an original gun to use as an inspiration on this project? I must compliment the clean work for sure. I see some architectural details that can be corrected on your next build that careful study in the books you may recognize. Keep plugging. You're on the right track.

A graceful position of a single trigger.  Begging to be held and shot.

Paul, you have done very well indeed with this rifle.  Fit, finish, and furniture all crisply done.

Especially like the plate on the left side- first I've seen with "Purty" flowers that I like.  You are going to have to put "Master Gun maker" on your business cards.

The first thing that I see is the placement of your patchbox. It seems to ride to high at the placement of the finial as opposed to where the original boxes were placed. It seems to run uphill on the stock.
Second, your side plate looks a tad wonky at the rear lock bolt hole. Maybe too much metal there.
Lastly ( and this is just personal preference here) is the carving behind the cheek piece. You have demonstrated very good carving skills on this project so why not mimic carving designs borrowed from original examples? Maybe I haven’t seen that design and if it does exist I apologize! The carving there might have some personal significance to you and that’s A-OK!
Keep building and practicing your skills! Study and handle as many original guns as you can. Rock on Bro!!!
