Northeast Penna Longrifle
« on: September 25, 2021, 10:36:16 PM »
Good afternoon,
In the Delaware Township (Pike county Penna) museum, there is an old curly maple longrifle stock blank, along with some other parts, which was found in the woods near where the shop of a gunmaker Joseph Meekins once stood. Has anyone ever heard of this maker, or any longrifle makers in northeast Pennsylvania?

That is a NICE piece of wood!
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government!

My goodness, I thought it was just dirty before I clicked through and zoomed in on the pic. That's some incredible curl! A great story to go with it, too.
