Has anyone used Moose Molds from PA
« on: November 16, 2021, 05:40:39 AM »
I was looking on line for mold makers and found a website for Moose Molds in PA. Has anyone on here had a round ball mold by them?If so, how was the quality of it.
Thank You
John

I recently posted a question  here regarding Moose Balls, the Moose Molds web page for their round ball molds. I was unable to contact them via email, or telephone.

Good luck.

I have several of their Moulds. They are high quality. Right now they’re in a state of flux due to a divorce. If you ask about them on the N-SSA website forum you can probably get some up to date info since most of their customers are skirmishes.

Thank You. I got no response to an email I sent to them. I was curious if they were still in business

I saw pictures of a conical "ball" mould & bullet from a Moose Mould. It looked as good or better than my
Lyman bullets, same calibre.

I bought a .550" round ball mould from them several years ago.  It is very nice quality.  Not cheap, but it comes with handles installed.  The .550" size was listed with their standard offerings, but I think they made them to order.  However, I recall it didn't take long for them to fill the order.

One service unique to Moose Moulds, as far as I know, is that they give you a choice of how the sprue cutter is set up relative to the ball cavity, either as a tangential cut-off (like a Lee mould) or with a visible sprue, like a Lyman.

I've heard the company is having some issues right now.  I haven't ordered from them recently.  They were good to do business with when I ordered my mould.

I wish they would make a .525" or .526" round ball mould.  They have a few relatively unusual sizes, but nothing in that range.

Here, Lyman moulds are over $100.00 and handles are another $40.00- last time I checked.
