Was a highly modified Kibler Kit with a builder's piece of wood, modified Chambers lock, Rice .54 caliber barrel and a lot of carving and shaping. Gun was supposed to be for someone else....but the deal fell through a while ago....so the gun sat unfinished for some time. It was stocked, in-the-white, and un-carved when I first had the opportunity to negotiate a completion by the maker, Chris Laubach. It is stained with asphaltum and finished with melted beeswax. A fortunate circumstance for me to say the least.

Lovely rifle for certain!  I like the way the forestock has been trimmed down to expose more than half of the side flat of the barrel...really slims out the forestock.
Outstanding and unusual finishing work, and very attractive.  Every time I see one of these Colonial rifles from Kibler, I get worked into a lather.  Got to add one to my stable.

It is an outstanding rifle.

Just as a FYI, just in case you are going to use the Tipton cleaning rods I see on your bench for your ML.   DONT!

I used mine in a match once and the carbon fiber rod broke off just above the jag when the jag was at the bottom of the barrel.  I  pulled the plug to get the jag out.   

I called Tipton just as a FYI and the gal was not surprised, kinda acted like she had heard that before.

So, I no long use mine for a ML.

In pic #2 you can see the Hickory rod I built....and the tip of the heavy duty stainless one I purchased from Rice.
I'm learning from a few great flintlock shooters here in Lancaster County.....luckily going to avoid alot of learning curve mistakes....but not all.

That's what it is for. Will also get involved in some fun competitions locally too.
It's going to take a lot of practice!!!!!!
But it's more fun than any other form of shooting in my humble opinion.

What a sharp rifle!  I see that the rear sight has been moved forward on the barrel - my kind of an arrangement for old eyes.  Is that some sort of a filler residing where the rear sight would normally go?

The sight was moved after I took delivery. My old eyes could not even see the rear notch when I focused on the front sight...so I moved it forward 6 inches. I asked Chris if he would fill the old notch. This is what a man crazy about his work did: Chris made the filler by hand. He hand drew a stencil on paper....traced it on a sheet of steel...cut it, then shaped, beveled, and notched the border of the design by hand with his needle files. He then hand riveted it to another piece of steel that he had filed a "male" dovetail into. Then he browned the piece. The new piece fit where the sight sat originally. I was blown away as he was texting me pictures of his progress on this seemingly small project. Took him several hours to make. When he suggested something like this, I knew just enough to shut up and stay ourt of his way.

My new first muzzleloader, other than the cannons we made when kids, was a .50 TC Hawkens.
