Looking for photos for late period Lancaster rifles.
« on: April 03, 2022, 09:09:04 PM »
I am looking for pictures of some late flint period or early percussion Lancaster long rifles. Examples of Dreppert, Gibbs, Fordney, Gumph, or other rifles of that era. I've looked at a number of examples in my books and in the library here and hope to find some more pictures that are not in the books. Anything from a simple farmers rifle to a fancy one is fine. If you have barrel measurements and or calibers, that would be great. Any photos of original "later" Lancaster rifles would be greatly appreciated appreciated.
Thank You
John

All I have are these bad pictures

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Thank you. That's exactly what I am looking for. I am going to try build one similar to this one. I am hoping to look at as many as I can for ideas. I have mostly looked at earlier rifles, and recently developed an interest in ones like this.

These have been posted on here before. They are mid to late 1830's. Jacob Fordney and John Drepperd.
