Used cold browning solution then put the parts in hot water and simmered for a bit. Pulled them out and scrub with a 3M green pad soaked with oil. Gives some pitting and a grey color to the steel.

Oh yes that’s a really pretty looking rifle! The side plate throws me off a bit. I love that patch box tons.
