I See a Day Horn In My Future
« on: December 23, 2022, 05:45:00 PM »
Well, these are about the cutest little horns I have ever seen - good color and great shape and straight-line measuring about 6 1/4" tip-to-tip.
I am building a NW trade gun for a friend and he gifted these these to me yesterday.  He is a butcher and ox driver and helped poll a jersey cow that was a little too fond of hooking folks.  I think they will make great looking day/bag horns.  I hope I can do them justice.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

They look good. Taking horns off a grown cow is no fun for either party and quite messy. Nice coloration on these.

Good start. How far does the cavity go?

The cavity extends to within 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" from the tip.  Life is good ;D

That's great, they will work out sell. Be sure to post them when they're finished.

    Thanks, Tim

It will likely be a while.  I have a rifle and a trade gun on the bench, a third in parts and a restoration project and I am as slow as cold molasses running uphill.  HOWEVER, I can hear one of them calling out to me :)
