Daniel Thiermay flintlock holster pistol

Back in 1994, I saw this in a local antique shop and for $365, couldn’t resist. The flash guard was broken off the lock plate, cock and frizzen had been replaced and the sear spring was broken. The forestock had about an inch of wood missing, which was filled with some sort of brown guck. There were three chunks of wood missing around the butt cap and a third of the horn nose cap was gone. Probably should have sent it to a professional or left alone, but at the time I replaced the missing wood and part of the horn nose cap.

Gun looks great. Better to fix it up for display than to let it rot in the next years.
Old horse pistols are very hard to find. I think this may be mid-1700

A bit older than that, more c.1710 would be my guess. Liege made. Great lock and furniture.
Ref; The Visser Collection, Vol 1 ,Part 2, page 312- 315 .....which I don't have
