The Orange County Historical Museum has invited local historian and author C. Michael Briggs to give a program on "North Carolina Schools of Longrifles" and "Piedmont North Carolina Banded Powder Horns" on Saturday, March 25th from 3 to 5 P.M.  The event will take place at the Eagle Masonic Lodge Auditorium at 142 W. King Street in Hillsborough, N.C.  The Museum will charge $20 to attend and will provide refreshments.

C. Michael Briggs will have one outstanding longrifle from each of the nine schools in North Carolina on display along with a number of banded powder horns from N.C.  The program will examine each of the nine schools in detail with information on the leading gunsmiths from each school, where it was located and what time period it was active. Briggs will discuss how to identify rifles from each school.

I am sure you have a vehicle that rolls down hill. Getting back up to the mountains might be a challenge. (smile)
