What is this flint blunderbus

My friend and ALR member Bluelight, aka Larry Floyd, wanted to show off his exquisite taste in firearms (he actually got this as a surprise "bonus" when he purchased other guns from a widow). The lady had no information on where/how her deceased husband came to own this gun. I offered to post photos thinking maybe one of you might have thoughts on where it might have come from, we thought it might have come from some European country but which one? He told me what the inlays were made of but I have forgotten, maybe he will chime in with that information.

Oh, he did say that the hardware and barrel bands were brass.

If I remember correctly he told me it was mounted on some type of back board (he removed the back board) for display.

It is some kind of Arabic blunderbuss. I think they are called a DAG....It is middle eastern for sure

Yes that is his graduation photo.

It's in the style of some Turkish blunderbusses but looks a bit more crude than usual.
The first of this general style were British and early 18th C.
I'd say North African on this one and leave it at that.

Those are generally known as Ottoman "dag" blunderbuss pistols. They often have belt hooks on the left.

Most are real, but some are more recently made "tourist guns" that were never actually made to be shot though they may have some real antique components. A good look at the vent and pan usually will tell you. Some just basically have cheap metal bent to make a "barrel" that would never have been safe.
