Very interesting target rifle.

A good friend stopped over the other night. Brought this rifle that he picked up the other day. It's roughly a 60 caliber has modern peep style sights, weighs in at probably 20 pounds or so. Has one of the most interesting triggers I had ever seen. The knob behind the trigger guard released the guard. The front of the guard was like a hooked breach barrel. Very robust Lug. Then the trigger group drops out. I have a rifle that measures a real 2 Oz on a digital trigger guage and this is no where close. Much lighter. There are two pins for your trigger finger to feel. Those pins are stationary. Slide off those pins and a feather touch on the real trigger bar and it is off.  Triggers have four leaf springs and there are 5 pivit pins for levers and such. Those pivot pins are a fine .038 in diameter. All case hardened and like a watch. The lock looks amazing too. No maker marks anyplace. It missing a thimble and a barrel key. Has a few minor issues but in its day an amazing piece. Anyone  seen anything like this??

Interesting.  There are similarities.  Was there any  markings on these two rifles? Only markings on this one was EEK on the lock. Assuming the original owner.

Most are makers name plus the Canton which has  Militia  marks

Helmut Mohr in Mayen/Hausen Germany told me that these types of triggers were usually made by watch makers in the French speaking part of Switzerland.Today it would be a very expensive idea.The lock is another thing.One of the bridle screws captures the sear spring and the "fly" must be on the back side of the tumbler.I saw the bridle screw holding the sear spring here recently on a 4 pin Brazier and may try the idea on a smaller version that I have that is 4 or 5 years started but not finished.

THAT is what I would call a KISS lock. Keep It Stupidly Simple.Actually a very novel idea doable with minimum tools,
