Does anyone have any comments on the new RCA Vol.1 Second Edition?

Worth the money.  Many new color photos of the original rifles, some new pieces.  If new color pics weren't available, they digitally scanned the original B&W negatives.  Addt'l new revised text.  Good stock paper.  I understand it may have been a limited printing.

TOTW has a couple images up here  https://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/269/1/book-rca-v1. Looks worthwhile for sure!

Crazy Crow Trading Post has it for $160 with free postage.  I recently got a copy and I think it's worth it.

I got one from Crazy Crow and the new edition is certainly a huge upgrade to the first one.

I have the old Vol 1.
I am frugal. I don't spend on stuff I don't need, unless it is a tool or a book.
I bought a copy at Carlisle.
I do not regret my decision.

I would have to leaf through a copy before I buy it.

I believe also that it's a great resource. The updated information and the color photography makes it much more usable and easy to see more details. The book has been printed on higher quality paper than the original one so that's an added bonus. The book is available, along with many of vendors, on the Kentucky Rifle Foundation's webpage in our store. Your orders would be appreciated and help us develop even more resources for the builders. I would be interested in knowing if RCA. No. 87 appears in the new second edition of RCA Vol. 1.

Yes, I am well aware that RCA No. 87 is in the original RCA Vol 2, but I am curious. RCA 87 was attributed to one of the Graeff brothers in Heckert and Vaughn's 1993 book and on KRF'S Vol.1: Issue II CD disc.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Yes Westbury, the Orre / Graeff rifle # 87 is in the revised RCA Vol I as 72A in color with updated info on the Graeff brothers, and 72B is another J Graeff classic Lancaster rifle in color. Bob

Interesting. Thanks Bob!

RCA 72 "looks to be typical" for a Graeff Lancaster style rifle in regard to the patchbox, triggerguard, and Graeff name engraving on the barrel flat.

On the other hand, RCA 80 with its side opening patchbox and non-typical (for other known Graeff signed rifles) triggerguard stands out as "Flier" in my view. Quite intriguing as well as puzzling for me.
