Log Cabin Shop Gunbuilding Class 2024.
« on: March 24, 2024, 07:01:16 PM »
So today was the final gunbuilding class down at the Log Cabin Shop until it starts back up in the Fall. Ken Netting was nice enough to come down and help instruct today's class. Here he is demonstrating how he lays out a blank and inlets a pistol barrel into a block of cherry:

He gave away the barrel, breech plug, and cherry block when he was done to the class and drew a name from a hat to see who got it.

The cool thing at the Cabin is that even though the gunbuilding class is over till Fall, there are still an endless amount of things to do! There's the blackpowder range and all of the informal get togethers and scheduled events to attend. There's all the times we meet up to build guns anyways even though there's no classes going on. There's the Southern Ohio Artisan Workshop classes coming up in May:

The Early American Trades Fair. All sorts of fun stuff. I hope to see you guys down there sometime!

Yes he is, he's about to finish his 700th signed gun! He's got a great sense of humor as well, the barrel and breech plug he is inletting he made himself and he engraved "Empty" on the face of the breech plug.
