Early buffalo rifle?

I acquired this rifle from a collector from Washington state. I would like to hear
opinions about the origin, etc.





As far as I know it’s all original. There’s no markings anywhere on it.

It looks like it has an English Enfield lock. 58 Cal should be big enough for a Buffalo or Bear. It could be a target rifle, but it seems like a large piece of lead for punching paper. Thanks for sharing.

Buffalo rifle generally refers to large-calibre, generally single-shot black powder cartridge firearms - I did  own a small bore percussion  English smooth bore suppose you could call a morning dove gun after I shot a couple.

The lock and rammer are indeed Enfield.

That's my opinion as well and I am wondering about how they mated it to double set triggers.Maybe no half cock and a reduction in the depth of the full cock.
