Barrel bender/straightener fixture
« on: November 11, 2024, 09:25:30 PM »
After straightening/bending barrels on my steel bench using aluminum blocks and a C-clamp, I decided to make myself a real press for bending barrels.  The frame is made from 1 1/2" square tubing with a .250" wall thickness.  1/2" bolts hold the 1/8" x 2" plates to the tubing.  1/2" threaded rod applies the pressure through a Delrin block which will keep the fixture from damaging the barrel.  I think this fixture will do the job.

That should get the job done! As always Dave. Well thought out. I like the dial indicator as well. I have used feeler gauges but I believe your way would be much faster as I have to take the barrel out and lay it on a straight edge each time.
