Silver "Memento Mori" Cups

These 2 cups are kinda special ......made as a Christmas gift for my son and myself. They are 100% shop made from sterling silver scrap . I've always liked "memento mori" themed items and have made several over the years. The theme "Memento Mori" or "remember to die" can be taken two different ways.First as a way of humbling you and as a reminder to adhere to the 10 commandments as your judgement day is coming. It can also be taken as "live for today as there may be no tomorrow".Either way the choice is yours. These cups represent that dual meaning....The hourglass on the bottom could possibly add or take away time depending on your direction or drinking but no matter what "death " is watching in the bottom. The cups are personalized with the owners initials on the coffins.Morbid maybe but I think kinda cool.......Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Made out of scrap eh? I can only imagine what you could do with virgin material. Those are fantastic. JZ

Delightful, Mitch. Thanks for sharing them. What is the dance step those skeletons are doing?
