Have not seen this first hand but believe it to be smooth bore.  Anyone heard of Sutherland.  British, American?

It’s a cut up, converted Trade gun. Sutherland made Indian trade guns that were traded all over. This one looks like a short barreled chief grade version. I obviously was full stocked originally, and flint ignition.

Right underneath the drum, underneath where the pan was, is that a crown and broadarrow mark?
It was an Indian gun, but not a fur trade gun.  During the War of 1812 period, guns like this were supplied to His Majesty's Indian Allies.  Common guns, with the typical serpent sideplate were also supplied.  These common guns are exactly like fur trade guns, and were made by the same contractors, but have the Government marks.  Yours was the higher grade gun, often referred to as a Chief's Gun.  Sutherland was one of the contractors.
It has been shortened, half stocked and converted to percussion.
Some guns were branded with the mark of the Indian Department of the British Army.

Sutherland's production:
1813.  common guns 446, Chief's guns 367.
1814.  373, 121.
1815.  463, 350.
1816.  10, 5.
In addition, they delivered 180 rifles and 269 pistols.
So, TWM's gun is one of 843 from Sutherland.

One of the paperbacked books on tradeguns had plans in it to make a Sutherland tradegun. I’m pretty sure it was a chief grade, but can’t seem to find the book.

There is a Sutherland Chief's gun in Charles E. Hanson, III's "The Trade Gun Sketchbook"
