selling my Bill Shipman rifle Dixon winner 2003
« on: January 30, 2025, 11:11:08 PM »
I guess I did not lower the price enough, I guess I liked Bills rife to much, after seeing on the wall for over 20 years unfired, So as you can see I put the price down. Hi guys, I am getting old and its time to sell a few of my best items, subject tells it all.  $9,000.00 pick up price or best offer.  Bernie in Lancaster county. 610-772-4655   pictures to follow I hope, a local friend will do them, Alex.
The rifle has..42'' barrel-swamped 1.06 to .900-touch hole liner-its .54 rifled Gets barrel this rifle was made to win Dixon's gun makers fair in 2003 and it did. its 9 lbs. it has a violin finish not just an oil finish. the inlays are real silver, brass and silver are all engraved. Any questions just give me a call, I would prefer to have it picked up at my home, and it does lower the price a bit, save ins. and boxing up and shipping cost. Thanks for your interest,  I think its Bills best one.  Bernie

I am going to give it another try and back on the wall I guess, just come to take a look. Bernie

Oldgunguy,
I just posted an explanation for how to post pictures, along with some pictures of what the computer screen will look like. (I had to have another guy show me how to do this a couple of weeks ago.) The explanation should be near the top of the For Sale list.

Go to the  Gallery in the website. Then to Past Projects at the bottom of the Gallery. There are a few pictures in the third row.

Is it the Gumph Family Rifle on Shipman's site?

No.  The cheek inlay on the Gumph Family rifle is different than the one shown here.  Also, the Gumph Family rifle has no carving behind the cheek piece.

The page Bernie is referring to is the "past project" gallery, which is a little hard to find. Here is a direct link that I think should work:

https://www.billshipman.com/Past_Projects_Gallery.htm#

If that link doesn't work for you, then here's how to find that gallery. First do a search for "BillShipman.com gunbuilder". You will get a list of links. The bing search or google search will look something like the image below. In that search list, you should see a link to "past projects gallery". That's where the photos of this rifle are located.

Within that "past projects" gallery, the rifle Bernie is selling is the third down in each of the columns. You can click on the "enlarge" button under each of the thumbnails on that page. The buttons will open enlarged views of each of those four images.

When you click on the "enlarge" button, the image will open in a new window. It may not be full size, so some of the edges of the photo might not show. To enlarge the window, you can click on the square button in the top right corner.

Here they are.  These won't be quite as big or quite as clear as what you can see if you view them directly through the website, so if you are really interested, you will want to see them on the gallery.  But maybe also posting them this way will be helpful to some of us.
