You’re constantly improving. Remember to study original pieces and learn all that you can about stock architecture. Keep them coming!

Really nice flow of the architecture. You’ve got real skills. I’m not sure how that forward, high cheekpiece would work for most - but everyone who’s seen me shoot a rifle says I “crawl the stock”.  So it would likely work for me.

Gorgeous rifle. I really like that dark finish with the grey barrel.

That rifle looks really skinny....  BTW, I like my rifles to be skinny!!! Appears like it should handle well in the field.  Great color as well!  The forearm looks a little short but is seems to work well with the rest of the architecture.

Really like that one and especially the finish. Quite a "proud" cheek rest.

I like the carving and finish.  The architecture is unique.  It's clear you have some good skills.  Studying original work always helps.

I like it.

Was the fotward placement cheeck piece done by design? Or was it moved to accommodate the carving behind it?

Did you use Jak Black on the brass?

My favorite thing about this is that barrel finish. What did you use to get that effect?

Thank you! Ive always placed my cheeck peices that way, same as the short belly, I just tend to like the look and i am a relativelynormally shapped guy and i enjoy the feel of the gun as well when shooting. As for the barrel and brass I used oxpho blue and 5 days outside in our current stormy weather! I do study originals but I do enjoy deviating and creating my own look

Very nice looking rifle…I feel the the forearm is too short but that’s just me (Curtis too). Workmanship shows a very high level of skill…a pleasure to see.
cheers Richard

Beautiful rifle! I hope mine turns out with half of that beautiful fit and finish.
Is it just a optical illusion, or is that barrel really long. Picture of it on the log makes it look like it’s a 50 inch barrel.

I understand doing it your way.  However, if the cheek piece is moved back there won’t be such a large gap between the carving and the butt end. That blank area detracts from the rest of the design.  An option would be to make carving larger and leave the cheek piece as is.  I like the short forearm, carving, and overall clean workmanship.
