Welcome to the forum!

You may need to draw a plan yourself so as to ensure that it will work with the barrel and lock you want to use.
You can find images of originals if you will search for the following:
"antique dragoon flintlock pistol image"
and
"antique dragoon percussion pistol image"
Both of these searches should pull up several images that could be used for drawing up plans.

Images like that are usually from auction house listings. If you will click on the image, you can usually also go to the original site, and some of the sites provide an option for enlarging the view of the images. Some of the auction house sites don't allow you to directly save images, but you can do a screen save (Alt + PrtScn) and then drop the screen saves into a Word file. Save the URL links, as well, so that you can go back to the site if you want to. I save images like this quite often. I learned to do this after I discovered that some of the auction houses only leave their photos up for a short while. I learned that if I wanted to save images from an auction house listing, it was best to go ahead and get them when I found them, otherwise they might not be there the next time I wanted to see them.

Thank you! I will have to try that. Totally makes sense. Not all pistols will be the same based on components. I just need a basic outline for now. So your recommendation will work. Thanks

Hi,
Why percussion?  Most of the pistols made like the one you showed were flintlocks.

yeah, sorry bout that... minor details.
That style/year era. percussion is just so much more enjoyable to shoot. But thanks for pointing that out.

Benjamin, shooting a flint pistol is a lot more fun than shooting a cap-lock pistol.

Daryl is 100% right. Especially if it's a dragoon.

This is a blast to shoot and is almost exactly the same power level as my M29.

I made the pattern for my dragoon pistol by finding a pistol I liked, then I took a screen shot of it, and then just enlarged it until it was the right size, and printed it out. Easy pleasey!

If you get me your email, I can scan the first pattern real sized and you can print it on 11x17 paper for an accurate pattern.

Build 'em and shoot them. They look good hanging above the FP and shooting at the range. Not prize winners by far, but I built 'em and enjoy range time and hunting time.

Right click on them and "save the picture to your desktop" or to a file called "Dragoon Pistol Stock Design" - something like that.

Good very, very sharp chisel's. At least three grades of sharpening stones and sharpen often as you are using them. Don't wait to "end" a session then sharpen. Sharpen before, during and after. It really lessen's the chance of mistakes from dull tools.
