Soddy by Henry Smith

Born July 28, 1796 in Tennessee Died 1878 in Etna Beat 3, Smith County, Texas

When Henry Smith was born on July 28, 1795, in Tennessee, his father, Josiah, was 13 and his mother, Ann, was 13. He married Mary "Polly" Ashford in Tyler, Texas. They had six children in 19 years. He died in 1878 in Smith, Texas, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried in Gresham, Texas.

Art a wonderful example of a hunting weight Soddy you were kind enough to display at Knoxville in years past. Are you attending this year?

Thanks for posting these photos. I saw it when you had it at the show. It is a fine rifle. Any more photos you were willing to share would be greatly appreciated.

Could you share a few measurements? (The one's I'd be particularly keen to know would be caliber, buttplate height and width, and barrel between the flats at the breech, overall length, and breech to entry hole.)
