I’d price it with a Rice barrel of same caliber and length. There are some of us old folks who have nostalgia, so maybe a small boost there.

Might be helpful to mention any work that has been done. Looks like the front sight dovetail has been cut for example.

I would say about $150.00. They were sold by Dixie Gun Works. Many were drilled off-center and plugged on the off-drilled end. For their time, they were OK barrels. Considering what's available today, they're not that great.

The XX Douglass barrels were on center at breech and muzzle. So many records set. But, that doesn’t prove they are better than current offerings.

The reason for off-center bores on "most" as I heard this back in the 70's is that Douglas bored octagonal blanks. If the hole came out in the middle it was stamped XX.
Today, I wouldn't have one. Too many OTHER choices.

I have two Douglas barrels, one is a XX barrel, and another one is not. That barrel is not in its original length. I don't know why one would want an inch and 1/8th barrel in such a short length.
As far as worth I would not pay more than 1/2 of what a Rice barrel costs for an unaltered barrel. I would pay much less for an altered one.

That’s an odd size barrel. If you can get $150.00 for it take it.

You take that 1 1/8" barrel, leave the breech 1 1/8", taper it down to 13/16" or 7/8" and flare it out to 7/8" or 15/16".  Those dimensions would make a fine little rifle with a nice stout wrist.

My barrel on my match rifle is 1 1/8" straight, but then the .704" groove to groove dia. gets rid of some weight.
That barrel in .45 cal.? Good luck with selling it. Even though short  it will still have some heavy front end weight.

The most nicely balanced and handy Hawken rifle I have ever held was made by Gary Mummery of Kimberly, BC, and it has a 28" x .54 cal barrel x 1 1/8" AF.  It also has a 13 1/2" lop.

I made a BPCR 40 caliber with a 1 and 1/8"barrel and it worked fine.I think the barrel was a Green Mountain. The 45 round ball barrel IF it is for a ball would make a good light bench rifle. The last 1 and 1/8" round ball barrel I had was made into "Hawken"style rifle and it is now 55 years old if it's still around.
