Howdy!
I have the above recently finished/unfired rifle for sale. I began the rifle at a building seminar at Friendship about 3 yrs ago then let it sit until recently when I got the energy up to finish it. During the seminar, I asked what type of of rifle we were building (from a plank). They didn't know, so it became a SW PA rifle by my estimation. I'm open to suggestions on that.
The barrel is a 42", swamped, Kibler (marked on bottom), .58 with probably a 1 in 66" twist in new condition. The lock is a Siler right hand flint which sparks well. I believe that the dst is Davis. The stock is curly maple, stained with "nut brown" & finished with several coats of rubbed down Tru Oil. I've been coats of Briwax on whenever I think about it. The sliding patch box was added by Mike Beathe as was the toe plate. LOP is about 13.5" & fits me well at a rotund 5'9". I haven't weighed the rifle as yet, but the barrel is light & the rest of the rifle is quite light as well. The balance reminds me of fine shotgun. I think I could carry it all day & not be unduly fatigued. I do not know the "letter weight" of the barrel conture at the moment.
I am asking $1800.00 for the rifle. Thanks for looking, Roger B.
PS: Shipping will be in a plywood box & buyer will pay actual USPS ransom.
