French Flint Double Fowler. PRICE REDUCED THIS ONE TIME

Up for your consideration is a French fowler.  Both locks are crisp as new.  It is about .58/24 gauge.  Bores are very good.  It prettier sister sold on Guns International for $8000.  I am asking $5000 $4500.  The cock on the right lock is identical to the left, but has a bit of engraving, possibly by the original shop.  The baleen ramrod was broken but I have the remnant.  I have replaced it with a fiberglass rod that I do not endorse using.  It is pretty special.  The barrels are stamped Jean Lallier but no other makers marks or signatures can I find.
Two chips behind the hooked breech have been professionally replaced.  The barrels do not pin or key to the stock.  The underlug is oversized and a sleeve is inserted into the underlug and the ramrod passes through the sleeve.  I fabricated the sleeve. It is not original.  The gun on Guns International was missing the sleeve also.

That lock shows a perfect example of a properly fit direct contact mainspring and its contours show all that needs to be done.
