The screwdriver handle is hollow and will hold extra bits. Each bit has a steel ball detent and they fit in the shaft precisely with NO play. The 1/4-inch hex shank hollow ground bits are made in America of American steel, heat treated, and black oxide coated. Each has a steel ball detent and is marked with a model number. The bits are made by the Chapman manufacturing company in Durham, Connecticut
(no affiliation). They have been an American manufacturer producing tools since 1936. I have used their drivers and bits for many years and never broken one. Each bit is marked on the shank with a model number for easy reference to the bits available on their website. The bits available are listed with width and thickness dimensions. They cost $2.00 each with reasonable shipping costs. They make 15 different straight blade tips if you want to expand and of course many other style bits.
