What is this feature called?

On most Longrifles, there is a moulding line that runs along the fore stock above the ramrod channel. What is that line called?

Humm...interesting question Bob. Is the terminology different for incised or relief carved, or, I have seen an unaltered 1830s SMR where they were painted/stained, which was only noticeable by feel or close inspection.

Forestock Molding! It applies to either raised or incised work.

Yep, for sure, that's called a forestock molding.
And if you have one running down the butt stock, that's called a butt stock molding.
