Something different...rawhide knife sheath

I stumbled on this idea and book by Don Bruton a couple of years ago. Of course we all know about Don's fabulous early rifles but he also makes these interesting rawhide sheath for knives he's made and then printed an instruction book on his method which is very well written with tons of pictures to match each step.
I bought one from him and made one to try and it came out pretty good, but then I made no more. A friend then asked me to make one for one of his knives so I made his and one for myself while trying to stay out of this relentless heat here in the east. They have a nice primitive look, though I don't know if they are historically accurate or not.

I have always wanted to make one of those. You have done a very good job.
Well done!

Cory, they are a process and you kind of have to stick to the script so to speak. I've made numerous bags and I guess I have them down but these are different for sure. You've got the talent so it'd be easy for you.

In case anyone cares, the big pig sticker is a Joe Schell knife and the smaller one is a Curt Lyle knife.
