KRA Presidents Tomahawk
« on: July 05, 2025, 09:38:38 PM »
One of the Traditions of the KRA Presidents is the incoming President has a Tomahawk made for the outgoing President of the association. Ed Fish who is the incoming President for 2025 ask me if I would be willing to make a tomahawk for the Craig D. Bell the outgoing President. I quickly agreed to make the Hawk, I considered it to be a great honor.

I contacted Beaver Bill to forge the head for me and he forged a nice early English hawk head for me. Roger Gonzales had given me a very tightly curled piece of sugar maple that I used for the handle. I used Sterling Silver sheet to make all of the inlays, poured pewter for the mouth piece and a piece of water buffalo horn for the clean out that was given to me by Ron Hess. The engraving is by yours truly. I am very proud of how it turned out and wanted to share it here.

I was privileged to see Jim make this 'hawk (over many days), and to see it presented to Craig. Like many of our rifles, horns, etc. you have to see it to truly appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship.

We are proud of you Jim!
