Hi,
This is a very fine smooth bored 0.69 caliber officer's fusil by Maria Gray, which won Best of Journeyman's Class at the 2025 Kempton Gunmakers Fair.  It is a robust gun representing the styling of officer's fusils during the early 1770s. The barrel is 39", LOP is 13 7/8", and drop at heel in 3".  It is stocked in black walnut stained to look like English walnut. It has early English checkering and carving around the breech. The barrel is custom made by Rice and includes a hook and standing breech with barrel keys. The Griffin lock was hand made from Rifle Shoppe cast parts and is smooth and tuned.  The brass mounts are engraved with designs inspired by John Twigg, however, the side plate is a unique scene designed and engraved by Dave Person.  The fine silver wrist plate was cast, chiseled, and polished by Maria and is a copy of one from a fine silver-mounted fowler by Joseph Heylin made in 1767.  Maria is asking $6500.  She prefers a buyer that can pick the gun up at the shop in Vermont or someone close enough such that the fusil can be hand delivered.  Shipping is an option but not preferred.  Please address inquiries to Maria by PM.  She is "Mgray" on this forum.
