Left Hand 1740's CNC lock
« on: October 30, 2025, 03:38:00 PM »
Hello,
Moderators...If this is not permitted please let me know and I will remove the post.

Due to the amount of interest we have received.. I spoke with our CNC vendor and he has agreed to reduce the typical number needed to make a run of locks form 100pcs to 50 pcs. So, If there is enough interest (Committed Orders) we will make a run of our 1740's Germanic CNC lock in a left hand version. On a side note we will offer this with any lock we come out with.. we currently have 3 other styles we are working on. If you are interested in getting on the list for our 1740's lock please email me at williamsburgforge@outlook.com, The Price is $375 per lock.

Thanks,
Chris L.

I hope there will be enough interest to make this possible. That's a very nice lock.

Remember to email Chris your commitment if interested. Having been selling a bunch of stuff lately, I find that tracking the communication is challenging sometimes. Like, “interested” or “I will commit to buying it.”?

I ran in to the same. Interested does not mean. “I’ll buy it”. I basically had to pin them down
to “Yes I’ll buy now.” Or plain No. 🤷🏻

What are the dimensions of the lock?  Can you post a picture of the internals?

I’m not sure Chris is counting responses here as commitments.

Above he said, “If you are interested in getting on the list for our 1740's lock please email me at williamsburgforge@outlook.com, The Price is $375 per lock.”

Hi Tom,
Our mainsprings will be machined in the flat state and bent / forged in the bend. I feel this is the best option for all our locks we are working to bring out. I have sent the CAD files to my CNC Vendor last week and I hope to start taking Per orders for the other 4 styles by January. Helpfully locks of the new styles will start shipping end of February.

Thanks
Chris

I have requested two of the left handed locks. For anyone considering a side by side Jaeger or Continental double flowler. This paired with the right hand lock would be invaluable.

Certainly there are more than 15 people on this forum that could use a great left-handed lock for a build now or in the future. My order is in, but we need 3 times 15 plus a few more before Chris can get these made. Anti up builders!!! Thanks for thinking of us left handers Chris!!

Yes, I'm also quite surprised at the low number.  I emailed Chris for 2 awhile ago so between us, we have 1/5th of the orders.  Everyone on here gripes about the lack of left hand locks available so nows the time to get a good one.  As you said....anti up!

I sure could use one for a build I’ve shelved until… Chris has my order fingers crossed.

And people wonder why I've been reluctant to offer left-handed options...
