Finished Buffalo Horn Project
« on: November 25, 2025, 05:01:10 PM »
Been working on this off and on since April. Kids are getting bigger now and I'm able to take the oldest with me to the shop as a helper.

Hoping to pair this with the Chambers New England Fowler I'm building next.

Well done Ethan, your carving experience will come in handy, design (deign being able to see the finished product) and execution.

  Tim

PS: Don't train your helpers :) like I did, now all the do is lay around, sleep & play.TC

Hi Ethan,

I just watched your Buffalo horn video last night.

Got to say, when I saw you painting it red I was shocked a bit but in the end, it became more like an antiquing process and I finally understood your vision.  I think it looks great.

I enjoyed the video and thanks for posting more pictures here.

Bryan

Thank you all for the kind words. As always, hoping for more shop time, but thankful for every day I get, no matter how I spend it. Seeing life through a child's eyes is magic.

Here's one Tim Crosby made for me to go with a Sharon Rifle Works Hawken I was given when my best buddy died. The woven horn strap has real buffalo hair in the thread.

I like that a lot. The bison horns have always appealed to me. That would pair well with a Kibler Hawken build with your personal "mountain man" flair added.  ;)
