Pistol Locks on Longarms

I might be reaching deep into Fantasy Land, but have any of you seen Colonial-stocked muskets/fowlers that re-used pistol locks? There are many late 17th, and 18th, Century military pistol locks that fall in the ~5-1/4 to 5-3/4” range, which could fit a fowler nicely. Do I think it happened? Probably, but would like to hear about any actual examples.

I have seen Tower pistol locks used on a few guns over the years. I did a restoration on a nice little Iron Mounted half stock that used a S. North 1823 pistol lock. If it still works, they used it, especially here in the south.

Thanks, Jim. These kinds of guns must have such cool stories, and contemporary builds will be very unique using pistol locks. I can imagine a militiaman coming home from the frontier with a pistol he picked up from a battlefield, handing it to the local gunsmith... "I don't need a pistol, but sure could use a new fowler..."

I have seen some originals that the lock appears to be somewhat undersized, but I am not going by a particular measurement just the proportion of the look in regards to the stock and lock.  That could be due to stock shaping as much as the lock. 

As far as modern builds the Chamber's Late Ketland works great on pistols and rifles.
