Shooting post surgery
« on: Today at 05:38:32 AM »
I finally worked up the nerve to get out to try to shoot again, 2 weeks post eye vitrectomy. My vision is clearing pretty well but the pupil is still very dilated and acuity is not great.

I went to the range and shot at 100yd with my 58 flintlock. I decided to go with my hunting load since it's well zeroed for 100 and I haven't shot it since September.

0.570 ball, 100gr 2f swiss, 0.020 minute men patch with frontiers bear lube. This patching is seriously awesome. I recommend getting some.

I first tried shooting normally. I can see the front sight decently well and clearly, but the black bull completely disappeared in a blur of white when trying to aim. 5 shots.... And I gave up and switched to left handed haha

Then switched to left handed, which is the first time I've ever shot lefty! It was kinda fun. 7 shots. I was going to shoot 10 but then realized I didn't have any more of those balls in my pouch so ended my day early.
