I'd rather see you post any target than  none at all Heelerau.  Go for it.

Are we starting a new shoot for August? Will it be the same target as July, 5 shots at 25 yards offhand? If so I might give it a try. I was recently diagnosed with a bone disease in both shoulders and this makes offhand shooting really difficult. This is the same malady that caused me to get a total knee and total hip replacement.

I'd like to submit a target for August too.  It forces me to take the time to get out to the range with a different rifle.  If you don't shoot all your rifles regularly, they get a pout on, and refuse to shoot centre.

I'd be willing to give it a shot.

OK, let’s get this August smoothbore shoot going. Shot my target this a.m. 25 yds offhand. Warmed up on a 4” gong.

It has been too long since I have gotten out to the range and seeing the posted targets was too much. I printed off one and realized the ink in the printer was not giving a red center. Had to break out the magic marker to finish it up. My practice target was not half bad but I needed to  do a better job of keeping the group in the rings. At least all the bullets went in side the rings that's about all I can say for now. I will have to do better next go round.  That smooth bore target posted earlier was amazing.

The bitter sweet of this was during the loading I thought I felt a loose point I don't recall ever being in the barrel. When cleaning back at home it was much more obvious,  I managed to ring the barrel at some point in the past. I will have to cut it off about 8" up from the breach plug to remove the ring section. Drat it all.  :-\

My main pump went haywire about a fortnight ago, and hadn't been to go  the range since then.
Went yesterday to function fire a smooth bore I just finished for a friend. Shot three rounds with the smoothie. It didn't blow and actually put all three rounds into the black of a pistol target.
Got the old .54 Hawken out. Placed a postal target at 25 yds. and went at it.
Sunny day 79degrees at 1:30 PM. Wind variable 12 to 15 MPH. Life is good

The beats were going too fast after the 4 shot group. :)

Gentlemen,  a  mate and I shoot a regular postal shoot for another site. This was a tin cup target on A4 paper shot at 25 yards. I used my late fathers' Missouri style plains rifle. 90 grains of ffg two 10 thou pre greased patches and a 490 ball. I had not shot this rifle in nearly 30 years. My Black Powder club had a camping weekend on a farm west of York, hosted by a lovely old couple, long time club members and wonderfull hosts. Lots of fun, and good food and good shooting. I include a shot of some of us, one of the chaps inveigled me into wearing a dead possum on my head!

I realise its not the same target as on this thread, but hope it will do !

cheers

Gordon
