My wife and I are buying a house, and I am finally that much closer to getting a shop set-up in my basement, or possibly in the small barn/shed that is on the property. Anything is going to be better than working on my diningroom table in our apartment

I would appreciate if you all could post some full view pictures of your work benches so I can get some ideas before I build something. I am thinking of a narrow bench I can walk around to be able to access both sides of the rifle. I am open to any suggestions as well. Most of you folks have been doing this a long time, and I appreciate your experienced opinions.

my bench looks strangly like the kitchen table,oh wait it is the kitchen table and while i,m working on a rifle all my tools sit on top of the fridge.my wife knew how i am and she could have said no.33yrs she has,nt given me the boot and she,s still here guess she does,nt mind too much.
i,m building a lehigh style right now and when done take note where all the pics are taken.it,s where the best light in the house is.

This is mine , I have a small shed (8'x16')I build in, that has two benches, as well as the free standing vise.

Here's a wider view. Other end has a bench with drill press, and gas knife forge, and other power tools.

Well this is a picture from Shop made tools but you can see my bench in the background to the new vise. I really like being able to have the gun in the main bench vise and still have a second vise to hold something to cut off or hold while filing. I should have made this second adjustable height vise stand years ago. As it is mounted to the table behind the main bench all I have to do is turn around and I have the second vise. Very useful.

Here's what the world famous Bevel Brothers were using as a bench last year at the York shoot.

Here is the one I built for less than $120, vices included. It was a laminated beam that one of the box-store lumber outfits had for sale. I asked the yard-man to cut it in half and, as you can see, his idea of half was not in keeping with the rest of us. Someone gave me the materials for the undercarrage. The bench top just rests on it. I used redi-rods to connect the two top pieces which are also glued.

There were to many image brackets [img] around your photo link. Don't use the image link in the BBC tags area, just copy and paste directly from your photobucket page.

This old *art needs help. When I copy a photo from Photobucket I cannot paste it on the ALR message page. So how do you folks who are successful accomplish this seemingly arduous task?

Acer has a tutorial that explains the process. It did take careful reading but if you follow it closely, it will work.

In your photobucket page, next to your picture. There are a list of options...share url / direct link / HTML code / IMG code. right click on IMG code, a box will open up, left click copy. Then go to your message box in the ALR forum place the cursor after the text where you want the picture, right click, a box will open, then left click the word paste, and walla you will have a line of text that will magically turn into a picture when you click the post button.
