That's a nice looking rifle, but I don't understand the attraction to A weight barrels in .40 caliber.  They may be lighter to carry in the woods all day but IMHO don't have the up front weight to hold as steady for target shooting as a B weight in .40 caliber.  I've recently had the opportunity to handle a nearly identical rifle to this one but with a B weight .40 caliber Rice barrel and it holds very steady and is nicely balanced.  To each his own, whatever floats your boat, etc., but I prefer a B weight in .40 caliber for a target rifle.

I just re-read my post and I didn't see the part where I said everyone was.  However, I did say "To each his own, whatever floats your boat, etc.".  I think that's the best approach; no need for anybody to get huffy.

SMRs are where the current market seems to be.  Nice looking, functional rifles that don't cost as much as the fancier rifles..

I have had heavy barrels as target and hunting rifles for years. im having Mike build me an A weight Squirrel rifle in 40 Caliber as we speak. i have held and shot a few A weight rifles with the swamped 44" barrels and found them to be steady as my heavier barreled rifles and a lot easier to handle with arthritis in my shoulder.
