I like the setup you have for mounting the barrels in the lathe.  Thanks. J.H.

Yes - Jerry - agree that "action" vice is being used very well indeed.

Runar, I love to follow your projects and very much admire your talent.  I built a 16ga double flint about 10 years ago and I was lucky in that I found a set of un-chambered barrels so I got to keep the inch or so at the breech you had to cut off.  Good luck with your project and judging by your past work, I expect your shotgun will  rival those of Manton or Purdey.

Ha! I just noticed that! I was entertaining the thought of a build like this just the other day. I'll definetly stay tuned! Will

This should be fun Runar.  I built one a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed it.  I am looking forward to watching your progress.

I had issues with getting the lock springs to clear the barrels, so you want locks with the springs as low as possible.  As shown in the  book, it will require you to file notches in the sides of the barrels.  I am sure you will figure it out!

Most excellent, Runar!  Brockway's book is full of great information.   I'm certain this will be a fun project for you and all of us.

looking forward to this one too!  Between Runar, Taylor and Firelock, I'll never get anything done anymore.  I'll just sit back with popcorn and a beer and watch you guys!  But at least I'll maybe learn something, instead of just turning my brain to mush watching TV.

Runar,  if the 7/8 plug does not work out consider a 22MM x 1,50.  I had the same concerns about barrel wall thickness as you in my 16 and opted for the metric.
