Runastav,
I just used you ramrod channel method with a long drill bit on my current pistol build. It worked so easily. That was one great tip!

Runastav:  I'm still curious to know how you will deal with the discrepancy between the barrels and the top of the standing breech.

Runastav, from your latest post it looks like you are not stepping in the breeches.  The gun would be slimmer through the breech if you would.  It is fun to watch your progress.

I was really concerned that the topic was removed from the forum.
I love Runar's work, he is a true artist.
This "IS" one of the best work in process builds I have seen.
My most sincere compliments.

I'm a little confused by you lock screw, are going to have enough material to get rid of the Allen screw slot?  I have a set of 12gauge barrels waiting to be used in such a project, I'm just unsure about the breaching.  I've done single barrels in the lathe, but I know there's not a lot to work with on shotgun barrels.  Your doing a great job, can't wait to see how you finish this one Runar.

Can this be made a sticky somewhere so it's easy to find when done ? The book by Bill is wonderful but seeing it in real time quality photos is brilliant. I built one many years ago and although somewhat crude due to my being a neophyte (32 years ago). A bit crude but totally functional. There simply were not good locks and such to work with.I said I would never do another but a couple years back a guy in our club got all inspired after reading Bill's book and decided to build one. He got the barrels breeched by a machinist, a standing breech started and the barrel channels plowed in. He then quit on it. I bought all he had  (barrels, wood, locks, triggers trigger guard, buttplate, and standing breech) for $300. My plan is to make it my final piece de resistance.60 plus guns away from being a neophyte I figure I can do a batter job this time.I plan to farm out the engraving and checkering. BTW early flint doubles(some) used the ground angle breech plugs like this one so it's totally correct way of doing it. The notched breech plugs allowed a narrower gun which was common on later guns. A great build along. Congrats sir.
