The annual ALR cabin-fever, winter get-together at Ft. Boonesborough State Park, Ky. will be held on January 25, 2020.  We will be meeting in the "Tavern" blockhouse from 9am to 4pm, with a break for lunch at Hall's on the River.

All ALR members and anyone that's interested in the study, building, shooting, etc. of long rifles, horns, bags, knives, etc. is welcome.  Please bring works in progress, recently completed pieces, antiques for discussion, items for sale or trade.

In past years we've had from 10 to 15 attendees, but we can accommodate more, and we always have a great time, so please come and join us.  We usually try to have some tutorials or demo's lined up, so if anyone has any tips or how-to's they would be willing to pass along, please let me know.

I'd like to get a rough head count, so I can let the Fort know how many tables and chairs we need, so please let me know if you think you will be attending.

Here's a link with info on the Fort http://www.fortboonesboroughlivinghistory.org/

I'll be looking forward to seeing y'all at the Fort.

-Ron

I’ll be there Ron and I’ll bring Curly Bean with me.  I’ll bring a couple guns, bags and stuff and I’m sure he will bring the same.

Ron,
I'm  newly retired, so no more work excuses for me.  I should be there .

Thanks,

Wayne, I don’t know about a rough head, but I’ve been called a knot head most of my life...will that work?  I’ll be there, provided the weather doesn’t go to heck. I’m sure I can find something to bring.

Ron, I would love to be able to make this get together. It sounds like a great time, but unfortunately it is right after my show and just before Mel's so there is no way I can squeeze it in. I hope you guys have a great time.

Is this a period dress event at the Fort, or a “come as you are”?

Thanks for all the replies and interest fellows, it should be a good time.

Jim,
It would be quite a haul from Alabama for our little get-together, but if you're ever in the neighborhood you are certainly welcome.

Uncle Hiram,
No, it's not too late.  It won't be too late until about 4:00pm on Jan. 25 ;)

Top Jaw,
It's come as you are.  Actually the Fort is closed for the winter, but they graciously allow us the use of one of the blockhouses for our annual get-together.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

Maybe I will have a wild cat to bring this year too. I'm getting a late start on trapping this year.

I’ll be sure to bring that fancy Lester Smith bench gun. There’s a lot to see on that piece alone.

Last weekend I got to closely examine the Lester Smith gun.  I still have the forestock carving seared into my brain.

Wayne, gossip has it that, the more birthdays you have, the longer you live!
