Thanks Daryl. Another nice day to shoot, a little windy.  Here is my 3rd attempt, not as good as yesterday....probably the last chance to shoot this month.  Merry Christmas...

Very easy to lose points on this target, even with good groups.
Merry Christmas to you too.

Here are my 2 attempts. It was a challenging target especially with the white paper in bright sunlight. I think the first on is a 34 and the second a 25. Unfortunately I shot the stock of that poor fellows gun. haha Rifle is a Kilber SMR in 45 cal. It shoots .445 with .020 patching on top of 50gr of FFF. I tried a new patch lube today with shooting and it seeming to work pretty well. It was deer tallow from this years doe mixed 2 to 1 with vegetable oil.

Interesting lube, Nbogan. I thought your targets were a 34 and 27. Good shooting and yes, it is a tough target.
The weather has turned cooler here so not sure we'll get out again.

good shooting guys. I'd say your target was a 33 Alacran. That ball on the left of the eye ball was just shy of 1/2 ball in.
Nbogan, I'd call your best one a 34. The ball on the bottom right doesn't look 1/2 ball in.

Some good and close scores here for sure. I like all the festive snowmen.

Some very good targets here!

I'm still hoping to get a chance to try this after Christmas, and before January kicks in!

Christmas must have agreed with the Sapergia boys...we both shot better today.  I shot this target with my S. Hawken copy in .62 cal....an 11 + pound rifle.  Good thing I'm still young and mighty.
Like Daryl, I will let Justin score the target - but if I may, except for the unusually fine decoration on mine, I think our scores are tied on this target!  Perhaps someone can post a perfect score so Justin's son won't have to disappoint Daryl.

That is some really nice shooting !    I have intended to shoot every day for the last while, but the weather has been crazy.  Pouring rain with wicked winds....I had to go and chop out more of the beaver dam to keep from having some bad flooding.  8 inches of water sitting on top of the pond ice.
At any rate, I covered my targets with packing tape to keep the ink from running , and will make every effort to shoot tomorrow.

Bob:  -2 C here today with no wind and a light snow falling...very pleasant.  The moose and deer on the Club's property have eaten all the beavers, so no flooding issues.  good luck...hope you can post a good target.

The Sapergia Brothers have posted some fine scores! Congratulations!!
I decided to shoot a .58 Hawken that I'm working on for my last entry.
The wood has three coats of finish on it so I figured I wouldnt bugger thee wood by shooting it. Waiting on a hollow under rib from MBS to complete it.  I bought the barrel on e-Bay a few years back and it is of unknown manufacture.
Well this was my worst target no excuses I was a bit antsy. I think the under rib  thimbles and rammer, will add enough weight forward to make it hold better.
All that said I believe it to be a shooter, .562 balls  85 grains Goex 2f, 12 oz denim from Jo Ann's and bear lube. Can't wait to shoot it from cross sticks.

I BELIEVE you are absolutely right- that rifle will be a GREAT shooter, alacran.
The consistency of the majority of your shots is really good. Only 2 bad shots.
Good load combination, too.

Just came in from shooting my first target.  Fingers are absolutely frozen ....they just don't take the cold well anymore although the rest of me seems impervious .  The packing tape covering was reflective so I am posting two different views of the same target to make scoring easier.
.40 cal  .395 balls,  .018 patching , bear oil lube and 35 gr 3F powder

Thanks Taylor.  We have freezing rain and snow tonight and Monday. Tuesday is supposed to be sunny and colder , but then snow mixed with freezing rain Wed and Thursday, so I'm hoping to get out again on Tuesday.  When shooting today, it was around minus 10 , but absolutely still.  Not even a whisper of wind.  Lighting was perfect. Except for cold fingers, I couldn't ask for better conditions  :)

Holy smokes, guys!! Good shooting!!  What are the odds of 3 gents all shooting a 37? Looks like a 3 way tie between Daryl, Taylor and Bob.

Heck of a group on that middle one Alacran. Bob got really close to a 39 with that outside ball.

NICE shooting, Bob.
I'm IN for a re-shoot.
I've got 9 balls left, I think. :o
I need a perfect score, cause I sure can't draw.   :P

I'm doing my best !  Notice how the groups get larger as I work my way down the snowman  :)
It's harder than I thought it might be .   I sure hope that more will try this target before the end of the month.
