Part of what happens though is the rifle is somewhat immortal and lasts for centuries in some cases. The rest of us are only caretakers for a short time.  ;)

I appreciate the comment, rifle turned out pretty well for being built with dad's old farming tools. I think a lot of old guns were made pretty much the same way. I did concede to a drill press for the bolts and screw holes.

  Well when I get back to it. Have had both 👀 done. Good old cataracts. Now maybe I won't need all four lanes to drive on or is that two ?  Oldtravler

Build complete on the 4th of July. Sights are lined up and shoots to point of aim with my hunting load. It will keel... ;D
