After spending far too much time looking at turkey and other assorted targets as possible candfidates for the November shoot, I gave up and settled on a plain old bullseye that everyone understands! Trying to decide on a simple scoring explanation for a turkey head target taxed my antique brain! I freely borrowed some ideas from Okawbow for some of the guidleines concerning age and shooting positions.
So what we have is as follows:
Go to
https://targets.s3.amazonaws.com/PDF/Bullseye1.pdf for the target. Here is what it looks like.
That big black bull and generous 10-ring should result in some nice scores. X's will be used to settle a tie.
1. Five shots offhand at 25 yards for those healthy and under 65.
2. Those 65 and over or with health/handicap issues can shoot from 25 yards using any position as long as the firearm is not rested. Sitting, offhand, prone, kneeling or leaning against something is OK, but the gun is to be supported by the hands.
3. Half ball rule applies.
Up to 5 targets may be submitted. Looking forward to a lot of shooters this month. Best of luck to all of you folks!
